Is OBX a good thing now? I’m curious because back when I had my WRX (07-08 timeframe) they were considered to be cheap eBay shit for rice boys who didn’t know any better. Are they making legitimately good parts now?

That flex pipe looks good. Most I've seen are a frayed nest of pain.

well it was those or the $1200 Comptech’s, I haven’t heard anything bad about these particular OBX headers

Gotcha, like I said, not trying to be a shit, I’m just genuinely interested in what OBX is putting out these days. It really used to be utter shit, exhaust systems leaked and all kinds of problems. But I recall hearing a few years ago their quality was getting better, so I’m not sure and I’m out of the loop these days. I hope these work out great, can’t wait to hear what you think of them.

yeah i understand that. I was browsing forums and when they first starter making these, the ceramic headers were cracking easily. The stainless steel ones are supposedly better and I’m pretty happy with it so far.

Mine look like no picnic. Damn backwards tilted Toyota motors. >:(

Might wait until either A. The flex pipe that’s farting now fails completely, or B. The timing belt goes and I’ll have more shit off the engine at that point so it’ll be easier to access.

Good plan with waiting to do it with the timing belt. that way when a bolt snaps off in the head and you have to pull the head to drill it out and helicoil it, you’ll be ready to deal with the timing anyway and it’ll be kind of less horrible.
